Yellow House Playschool is a valuable resource for both parents and young children. New facilitated playgroups are being offered for children ages 18 months to 3 years, each lasting 1.5 hours. These sessions are designed for children to attend with a caregiver, and will be led by founder Jan Lozito, who brings her warmth, experience, and gentle guidance to every class.
Children will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy YHP’s beautiful outdoor classroom and cheerful indoor spaces. Each session includes a rich variety of activities such as community circle time, messy art, sensory exploration, early literacy and math concepts, collaborative play, and—most importantly—community building.
Free Play & Exploration - Children explore open-ended activities like building, sensory play, art, pretend play, and books at their own pace.
Group Time & Community Building - We gather for songs, stories, simple games that support connection and routine.
Outdoor Play & Movement - Daily outdoor time includes running, climbing, digging, and seasonal activities like water or mud play.
Creative Activities - Art, music, dance, and imaginative play are offered throughout the day, guided by children’s interests.
Closing & Transitions - Tidying up, gathering belongings, and saying goodbye in a caring way with a sense of calm and connection.
All children attending either classes or childcare must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination, along with four required forms from county licensing, must be submitted before a child can attend Yellow House Play School. We spend the majority of our time outdoors to reduce the spread of illness and follow our health policy strictly.
