The YHP Afterschool Program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children after school. My goal is to create a calm, consistent space where kids can unwind, connect, and enjoy their afternoons.

Crocker Highlands Elementary School (pick-up location)

YHP Director Jan Lozito meets students at a designated spot after school and walks with them safely to Yellow House Playschool, about a 15–20 minute walk. Once all children are accounted for, the group takes the safest route together.

After a healthy snack, children can choose from a wide range of activities — from arts and crafts projects to board games, puzzles, and building toys like Lego and magnet tiles. Our imaginative play area is always popular, filled with trucks, trains, dolls, dress-ups, and more.
 

We value outdoor play and make full use of our spacious yard and covered deck. Outdoor features include a large sandbox, mud kitchen, sensory and water tables, outdoor games, and a unique chicken coop / climbing structure.

For children who need a quieter moment, cozy areas are available for reading, drawing, or resting to help children decompress.

To complement the kindergarten curriculum, children engage in fun, age-appropriate games, activities and books. Every afternoon ends with a read-aloud time, helping build and establish early literacy skills.

YHP is a screen-free environment, with the exception of an occasional rainy-day movie.

All children must be picked up by 5:45 PM. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up your child, please notify me in advance.

Please notify me if your child will be absent. Tuition remains the same regardless of attendance.

All children attending YHP ASC must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination, along with four required forms from county licensing, must be submitted before a child can attend any of our programs.
